WEEK 2 - PATTERN BLOCK MAKING & BASIC HAND STITCH 

PANTS BLOCK

SIR is demonstrating us on how to draw the pants and the skirt master pattern block on paper , then we also started to draw on papers.

BASIC HAND STITCH

RUNNING STITCH

Running stitch is the basic stitch in hand sewing and embroidery on which all other forms of sewing are based.

BASTING STITCH

 Basting is a temporary straight stitch used to hold layers together until a final stitch is sewn

BACK STITCH

This is when a stitch is sewn one stitch length backward on the front side and two stitch lengths forward on the reverse side to form a solid line of stitching on both sides.

HERRINGBONE / CATCH STITCH

This stitch is mainly used to sew hems in thick or heavy fabrics or stretchy knit fabrics.

 

INVISIBLE STITCH 

This stitch is used to close seams and is invisible or nearly visible when finished .

REFLECTION 

This week we learned on how to sketch master pattern for skirt and pants , then we also studied about stiches , and practices all the six type of stitches afterwards.
